Please click here to go directly to an index of our programs.ProgramsWhether spending an intensive week examining the evolving politics of the Czech Republic and the European Union, or the whole summer learning about the vital role that Jewish culture has played in the political and literary development of the city of Prague, ECE students participate in programs that are academically demanding and unique among study abroad programs in Prague. All of our programs follow the same basic organizational philosophy. We couple traditional academic lectures and coursework with group discussions led by the actual leaders at the cutting edge of each program's discipline. Thus, for the Transitions program, past speakers have included the first Foreign Minister of Czechoslovakia, members of the European Parliament, staff from the European Commission, U.S. Embassy staff, representatives from Czech political parties, former political prisoners, leading figures from the Czech print media and former dissident press, and cultural figures such as award winning author Ivan Klima. Key advisors and speakers for the Jewish Experience program include the director of Holocaust Studies for the Terezin Concentration Camp, and current and former Board members of the Prague Jewish Community. Invited speakers for our Spring Break program include both the current and former Mayors of the City of Prague, representatives of the President of the Czech Republic, Members of the European Parliament, and Members of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Our programs are offered as direct credit classes by the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida. USF is a top ranked school--one of only three in the state granted the designation of Tier I Research University, accredited by SECCUSA, and a member of the Big East Conference.
